Disabled Parking Placards

To apply for a placard, an application form must be completed by one of the following and submitted to our office:

• Physician
• Occupational Therapist
• Physiotherapist
• Surgeon
• Physical Therapist
• Podiatrist
• Nurse practitioner
• Chiropractor

Placards Are Color Coded as follows:

Blue Placards – are issued to those with long-term disabilities and are valid for five years.
Red Placards – are issued to those with disabilities that are temporary in nature, but will affect them for a period of three to twelve months (Note: A visitor in need may use their valid (non-expired) parking placard from their home jurisdiction during their vacation or visit to Alberta.)

Permits are to be displayed on the rear-view mirror of the vehicle that is providing you transportation at the time and while parking in a parking stall/space signed for persons with disabilities
